Camp Kirkwood consists of 195 acres of pristine nature and is just outside of Watha, North Carolina, 5.5 miles north of Burgaw. It is just minutes from Wilmington with easy access to the main thoroughfares to North and South Carolina.

Kirkwood is ACA (American Camp Association) certified and offers a safe oasis from modern distractions such as computers, iPods, etc. The music here is the rustle of dry leaves, children laughing, birdsong, oars dipping into the lake waters, and cannonball dives into the pool.

Main LodgeThe main lodge is central to the camp and can provide a space for meetings, gatherings, conferences and retreats. The dinning hall has a wood burning fireplace and can seat up to 195 people and the food is prepared and served on-site by a fully staffed kitchen. For smaller groups, a unit lodge is available with its own full kitchen which can seat 45-65 people. We also have two pavilions, one large with picnic table seating and charcoal/gas grills, and a smaller one near the pool area.

CabinCamp Kirkwood's amenities include but are not limited to indoor and outdoor camping. We have eight cabins (with heating/ac and indoor bath facilities) which are scattered though the camp and each is capable of sleeping 8-10 persons bunk style. In the more "rustic" area there are eight screened cabins for a more realistic wilderness experience. These cabins share a central bath house that is within close walking distance of. Lastly, tenting sites are available to the "extremely rustic" camper with fire pits in each.Canoeing

Near the main lodge there is an eight acre lake which is canoe and kayak accessible. One highlight of the lake is it's breathtaking Vesper Dell which seats approximately 150 people. This area has electric outlets available for screens, sound systems and ligthing if desired.
